Shake Media Hub (www.shakemediahub.com) is a conscious lifestyle publication and brand directory operated from Johannesburg, South Africa. Our editorial mission is to surface overlooked health, wellness, and sustainability information and to provide readers with better-informed consumer choices.
Shake Media Hub operates three interconnected products: the editorial publication (Shake Media Hub), the brand directory (ShakeHub Directory / Aligned Hub), and a forthcoming ingredient scanning application (ShakeUP App). These Terms apply to all three.
2. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using any part of this website, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, our Privacy Policy, and our Affiliate Disclosure.
If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use this website.
3. Editorial content — not professional advice
Important: All content published on Shake Media Hub — including articles, brand reviews, ingredient guides, product recommendations, and material safety information — is provided for informational and educational purposes only. It does not constitute medical, nutritional, legal, financial, or professional advice of any kind.
Shake Media Hub takes evidence-based editorial positions on topics including fluoride, PFAS coatings, microplastics, synthetic fragrance, and other materials or ingredients of concern. These positions reflect our editorial research and interpretation of available science. They are not a substitute for advice from a qualified health professional, toxicologist, or specialist.

All content on Shake Media Hub — including but not limited to written articles, editorial copy, brand guides, ingredient tables, design elements, graphics, page layouts, the Shake Aligned badge, the ShakeUP App concept, and the ShakeHub Directory structure — is the intellectual property of Shake Media Hub and is protected under South African copyright law and applicable international copyright conventions.

- Print individual pages for your own personal, non-commercial reference
You may not

5. Affiliate relationships & commercial listings
Shake Media Hub participates in affiliate marketing programmes and operates a paid brand directory (the Aligned Hub). Full details of these commercial relationships are set out in our Affiliate Disclosure.
Editorial independence is non-negotiable. No affiliate arrangement, paid listing, or commercial relationship influences our editorial positions, our product assessments, or our ingredient and material evaluations. A brand paying for a directory listing does not receive more favourable editorial treatment. A brand with no commercial relationship with us is featured if it meets our standards. This will never change.
6. Third-party links & brands
Shake Media Hub links to third-party websites and brand pages throughout its content. We include these links because we believe the destinations are useful and aligned with our values at the time of publication. However:
- We do not control third-party websites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices
- A link does not constitute an endorsement of everything on that site — only of the specific product or content we reference
- Brand formulations, certifications, and supply chains can change. We encourage readers to verify current ingredient lists and certifications directly with brands
- Shake Media Hub is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of a linked third-party site
7. User conduct
When using this site, you agree not to:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or its underlying systems
- Use the site in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its operation
- Transmit any unsolicited commercial communications (spam) via our contact forms

9. The ShakeHub Directory — brand listings
Brands listed in the ShakeHub Directory (Aligned Hub) enter into a separate Brand Partnership Agreement with Shake Media Hub. That agreement governs the specific terms of their listing, including tier, pricing, deliverables, term, and cancellation. These Terms & Conditions apply in addition to, and do not replace, the Brand Partnership Agreement.
All listed brands must continue to meet Shake Media Hub’s editorial standards for the duration of their listing. We reserve the right to remove a listing if standards are no longer met.
The Shake Aligned badge is licensed to active listing partners only. Use of the badge lapses immediately upon cancellation or non-renewal of a listing.
Listing pricing is provided upon request. Shake Media Hub reserves the right to revise pricing with reasonable notice to existing partners.
A paid listing does not guarantee positive editorial coverage. Editorial content about listed brands remains fully independent.
10. Privacy & cookies
Your use of this site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which sets out how we collect, use, and protect your personal information in accordance with POPIA. By using this site you consent to our use of cookies as described in that policy.
11. Changes to these terms
Shake Media Hub reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. The date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
For material changes, we will notify newsletter subscribers by email.
12. Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of this website shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
