What this step adds is the full report — every pillar and the reasoning behind it — and an open invitation to send us anything the label didn’t have room for: a certificate number, lab results, a composition by layer. Send it and we’ll check it and re-score. Happy to proceed? Review and sign our partnership agreement — no surprises, nothing hidden.
Assemble

Every brand we write about is scored the same way — the number is the number. We never inflate, and we never hide the reasoning. Your score can rise as you grow, and we’ll always show the work behind it. Showing the working is the whole point: an audience that trusts us is an audience worth being in front of.
The label writes the score. We don’t. Only evidence moves it.

We know it. A label has room for a legal minimum and very little else — not the certificate number, not the testing standard, not the mill, not how the odour control actually works.
We have room for all of it.
If it exists, send it. A certificate we can look up. A test result from an independent lab. A composition by layer. We’ll check it, we’ll publish it, and your score will move to match.
This costs nothing and it never will.
You do not need to be a member, a partner, or a customer. We would far rather publish your evidence than our own estimate — and if you send it, we will.
Every brand is scored.
Nobody pays for that.
We score what we can check, from what you publish, whether you have ever heard of us or not. If our score is wrong, send us evidence — a certificate number, a lab report, a composition by layer — and we will check it and change the number. That is free, it is free forever, and it is free whether you are a member or not.
There has never been a way to pay Shake to look at evidence, and there never will be. What a membership buys is how you appear on the page. It has never bought the number.
The label writes the score. We don’t. Only evidence moves it.
What a tier buys is everything around the number: your imagery, your own page, and how deeply we cover you. A link a reader can buy through is not on that list — where we earn from a retailer rather than from you, that link can sit under any score, member or not.
What it doesn’t buy is the writing. Every word on Shake is ours — the score, the reasoning, the cards, the directory. We’ll ask you plenty and read everything you send. But our readers came here to be told the truth by us, not sold to by you, and that only works if the voice never changes hands.

What happens if you leave
Your Looking Glass page comes down and your imagery comes off your card.
Your score is not affected. Ever. It stays published, it stays open to evidence, and you can move it the day after you cancel exactly as you could the day before. We do not take a score down because somebody stopped paying, and we never will.
Your card may not stay. A category page holds a limited number of cards and members have first claim on them. If the space is needed for a member, your card comes off that page — but your score, your reasoning and your open questions stay published in full in the Score Index, free and permanently, exactly as they were. That is a question of room on a page, not a judgement about your product.

Our editorial positions are not for sale. A tier buys presentation — your imagery, your own page, and how deeply we cover you. It cannot buy your number, and it cannot buy where you rank. Your Shake Score reflects your product, whatever the tier. Commercial relationships are always disclosed. That’s the deal.
